Friday is hottest thus far in Metro Manila

MANILA, Philippines—Metro Manila experienced its hottest temperature yet this year Friday afternoon, the state weather bureau said.

Connie Dadivas, weather forecaster from the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, said the mercury rose to a scorching 36.6 degrees Celsius at 3:55 p.m.

The new record beat Tuesday afternoon’s record of 36.1 degrees Celsius. On Wednesday afternoon, Metro Manila temperature was at 35.9 degrees Celsius.

Warm weather is forecast for three to five days due to a high pressure area across Luzon, Dadivas said.

The hottest temperature in Metro Manila was recorded at 38.5 degrees Celsius on May 14, 1987.
