MANILA, Philippines — Rains are expected in parts of Mindanao due to a trough of a low pressure area affecting the southern part of the region, the state weather bureau said Friday.
“Davao Region, ARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN and the Provinces of Agusan and Surigao del Sur will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms,” the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
It added that light to moderate winds blowing from the east to southeast would prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the east over Mindanao.
The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate, it also said.
Meanwhile, based on Pagasa’s extended weather outlook, temperature in Metro Manila is expected to rise to up to 36 degrees Celsius on Friday and the upcoming days.
Thursday’s highest temperature in Metro Manila was recorded at 35.9 degrees Celsius at 4 p.m, while the hottest temperature for the year in Metro Manila for this year was recorded on Tuesday at 36.1 degrees Celsius.
