BUSINESSMAN Jonathan “Atan” Guardo surrendered to police yesterday after a warrant of arrest was issued by the court against him.
Guardo, however, stayed out of jail after he posted a cash bail bond on charges of violating the Bouncing Check Law, which was filed before the trial court in Cavite.
The RTC cashier didn’t reveal how much Guardo paid in order to secure temporary liberty pending resolution of the case.
After posting bail, Guardo went up to the office of Cebu City RTC Executive Judge Silvestre Maamo Jr. who issued a release order for Guardo at around 4 p.m.
Guardo however refused to comment when asked for a reaction.
“We’re just making a follow up. You better go down to RTC Branch 7 since there are several good cases there to report,” said Guardo’s companion.
Court employees were also tight-lipped about details of Guardo’s case.
Only a warrant of arrest was reportedly brought by Guardo and that the Information, which contained the accusations, wasn’t shown to them./Ador Vincent S. Mayol
