13 inmates escape Negros Occidental jail–police
MANILA, Philippines – Thirteen inmates, most of who are facing murder charges, bolted out of jail in Negros Occidental Wednesday, police said Thursday.
Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr., Region 6 police director, said the jail break happened at the Bureau of Jail Management Penology in Sagay City around 5:30 p.m.
One of the escapees identified as Rolando Bajo allegedly pointed a caliber .38 revolver to duty jailguard Jover Valenzuela, while another inmate Rey Villanueva disarmed him.
Cruz said other inmates pointed sharp objects at the other jailguard Francis Vallador before Bajo shot and destroyed the padlock of the detention cell’s main entrance.
Along with Bajo and Villanueva, the other escapees were identified as:
Joenard Quirante (physical injury)
Eric Cordero (frustrated murder)
Joemar Levester (robby with homicide)
Gilbert Maneja (murder)
Marjon Bandala (murder)
Richard Dacal (murder)
Armando Dilao (murder)
Jimmy Vistar (murder)
Jake Española (murder)
Restey Dacal (murder) and
Joelito Subtinente (murder)
