PB dads warned against absences

PROVINCIAL Board (PB) members who continue to be absent in their weekly board sessions could be reprimanded or worse face suspension, the Department of Interior and Local Government in Central Visayas (DILG-7) said yesterday.

DILG legal officer Ayessa Nogra said PB members who commit four consecutive and unexcused absences will be held administratively liable for their actions.

“They have leave credits so if ever they are absent to go abroad or take a vacation, it will be considered excused and not part of the official count of absences,” she told Cebu Daily News.

About 11 PB members were absent. These include acting Vice Gov. Julian Daan, Sergio Restauro, Peter John Calderon, Wilfredo Caminero, Alex Binghay, Joven Mondigo, Sun Shimura, Jude Sybico, Miguel Magpale, Aladin Caminero and Rimobapil Holganza.

The only PB members present were Ian Zambo, Thadeo Ouano, Arleigh Sitoy and Carmen Remedios Durano-Meca.

The board was supposed to invite Provincial Health Officer Dr. Cristina Giango and Provincial Attorney Marino Martinquilla.

The board was supposed to discuss the pending resolution on the province’s purchase of medical equipments.

Nogra said PB members listed with four consecutive absences would still undergo due process before being reprimanded.

Provincial Secretary Anecita Pasaylo said there were nine PB members who sent letters stating they cannot attend the session for various reasons.

Only Calderon and the younger Caminero did not sent in their letters citing why they were absent from yesterday’s session. Correspondent Peter L. Romanillos
