PANGASINAN, Philippines — The Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) on Wednesday named the senatorial candidates it would support.
Lakas-CMD president Leyte Representative Ferdinand Martin Romualdez announced they are going to support Nancy Binay, daughter of Vice President Jejomar Binay, former senator Richard Gordon, Brother Eddie Villanueva and former Las Piñas Representative Cynthia Villar.
The political party of former president and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has earlier endorsed San Juan Representative JV Ejercito Estrada, Zambales Representative Mitos Magsaysay, Aurora Representative Sonny Angara, Cagayan Representative Jack Enrile, Senator Gringo Honasan and former MTRCB chief Grace Poe.
But that only makes for 10 senatorial candidates being backed by the opposition party and Romualdez said that they were allowing their local candidates to choose two more senatorial bets who they would support.
The Lakas-CMD leadership said it was recommending that their local candidates consider choosing from former Tarlac Governor Tingting Cojuangco, Senator Loren Legarda, and former senators Ernesto Maceda and Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri.
