Senior Inspector Ryan Manongdo, Pangasinan police spokesman, said the incident occurred at the China Bank located along Marcos Avenue, Barangay (village) Palamis in Alaminos City around 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Before the accident, Manongdo said the armored van was already parked in front of the said bank when its driver, Randy Calina Miranda, allegedly instructed his co-security escort, Joeffrey Garcia, to “properly park the vehicle.”
However, Garcia made a reverse acceleration, causing the van to hit the front glass panel of the bank and subsequently drag customer Jovelan Radovan.
Investigators later found out that Garcia, a security officer from Guard Uniwide Security Agency, didn’t have a driver’s license.
Radovan was rushed to the Western Pangasinan District Hospital and later transferred to a hospital in Dagupan City after sustaining injuries in different parts of his body, Manongdo said.
