HAGATNA, Guam—An autopsy report shows a Korean tourist visiting Guam was attacked by a shark before he drowned.

Forty-year-old Nae Dok Kim went missing Saturday in Tumon Bay. The next day, fishermen found his remains floating about 20 feet offshore. His legs and right arm were missing.

Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Aurelio Espinola says there’s evidence of bleeding, which indicates the man’s heart was still beating when the attack happened.

Pacific Daily News (https://bit.ly/XNkpKy) reports a spokeswoman of Pacific Islands Club Guam said the Korean guest was last seen along the beachfront. Employees of the hotel had helped search for him.

University of Guam marine professor Terry Donaldson says while shark attacks are not common for Guam, the tourist was likely attacked while swimming over the reef’s edge.
