Twin-tower combo helps EA Regens log victory

EA REGENS twin-tower combination of Ian Sangalang and Raymund Almazan made crucial baskets down the stretch to help the Team Delta pull off a 73-69 win over the Cebuana Lhuillier Gems in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup yesterday at the Arena in San Juan City.

Sanggalang’s basket off a miss by Raymund Almazan put Team Delta ahead, 70-69, with 55 seconds remaining.

Cebuana had a chance to retake the lead but EA Regens forced  a 24-seconds violation that led to a another basket by Almazan to seal the win.

It was former pr gunner Jimbo Aquino, though, that led the way with 19 points while Almazan had 14 points and 11 boards and Sangalang chipped in 11 as Team Delta won its second straight and third overall in five games to pull into a tie with defending champion NLEX Road Warriors at 3-2 (win-loss) record.

Jumbo Plastic snapped a four-game skid with a 80-75 victory over Informatics in the second game. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
