DILG clerk, 2 others arrested in QC drug bust
MANILA, Philippines—Several grams of cocaine worth millions of pesos were confiscated and three people were arrested following a buy bust operation in Quezon City Monday morning, a Philippine National Police official said.
Chief Inspector Roque Merdeguia, PNP’s Anti-Illegal Drugs and Special Operations Task Force chief, said a drug sting was conducted by authorities on G. Araneta Avenue in Barangay (village) Dona Imelda in Quezon City around 10 a.m.
He said roughly 1 kilogram of cocaine worth about of P5 million was confiscated from suspects DILG clerk Sherwin Lim, 37; Bryan Lensang Esquerra, 22; and Robby Uybico Mabalatan, 34.
Aside from the cocaine, three cell phones and over P400 cash were also confiscated.
The suspects were placed under police custody at the PNP-AIDSOTF office, Merdeguia said.
