Quezon village chief shot dead

LUCENA CITY, Philippines – A barangay captain of Candelaria, Quezon was shot dead outside his house late Sunday evening, police said Monday morning.

Supt. Francisco Ebreo, Candelaria police chief, Calixto Clamor, chairman of Barangay Santa Catalina Norte, had just arrived at his house from watching a basketball game when he was shot multiple times in the head by two gunmen, both armed with .45 cal. pistols, at 9:30 p.m.

Ebreo said Clamor was killed on the spot.

The assailants escaped on a blue scooter, he added.

Ebreo, citing accounts of witnesses, said one of the gunmen was identified as Aladin Cornejo, a resident of the nearby village of Santa Catalina Sur.
