Police offers half a million pesos bounty for notorious Manila carjacker
MANILA, Philippines – A P500,000 reward awaits anybody who can supply information that would lead to the arrest of carjacking and murder suspect Eduardo Fernandez, a spokesman from the PNP Highway Patrol Group told reporters in Camp Crame on Tuesday.
Superintendent Edwin Butacan said that the PNP and several concerned citizens, raised the amount in the hope that someone would come forward with vital information about Fernandez. He urged anyone with information on Fernandez’s whereabouts to contact the HPG through these numbers: 726-1261 to 62 or 09063745375.
Fernandez who also goes by the names Rolando Talban, Rolando Fernandez, Eduardo Talban, and Rolly Talban, was identified by witnesses as the alleged gunman in car trader Venson Evangelista’s death, said Butacan. He was also tagged in the recent carjacking-slay case on Teresita Teano in Quezon City.
He also went by the name Michael Villafranca, and listed addresses in Mandaluyong City and Quezon City in his postal identity card.
The suspect was described to be 27 to 32 years of age, around 143 lbs in weight, roughly 5’7” in height, of fair complexion and medium build, said the HPG spokesperson. Authorities also said that he was wounded during a shoot-out with HPG operatives at Road 3, Project 6 in Quezon City last year.
Fernandez has an arrest warrant from Judge Herminia Pasamba of Regional Trial Court Branch 82 in Malolos, Bulacan.
