One Cebu candidate: Tuburan sortie draws thousands of people

AT LEAST 10,000 people attended the One Cebu sortie in Tuburan town yesterday.

Dr. Rose Marie Suezo, One Cebu mayoralty candidate for Tuburan, gave this estimate together with Vice Mayoralty runningmate, Daphne Lagon, started the sortie at 1 p.m. with a caravan around town.

They converged at  near a technical school of the town where she claimed the thousands who attended their rally.

Suezo was accompanied with actor Gabby Concepcion and local entertainers.

Suspended Gov. Gwen Garcia, his brother Rep. Pablo John Garcia and their candidates for Cebu province arrived later to join the sortie.

Suezo claimed that the security situation in the town had worsened since the 78th Infantry Batallion which was based in the town was reassigned to Leyte in 2011.

She said that her team were not affected by the suspension of Cebu governor Garcia because it only made the people sympathize with them.

Suezo will run against incumbent Mayor Aljun Diamante of the Liberal Party for the mayor’s post this coming elections./Correspondent Renan Alangilan
