A TOTAL of 17 teams from different parts of the country are competing in the 6th Ultimo Abril Frisbee tournament at the Aboitiz Sports Field.
The tournament started last Friday and will end today.
The 17 teams were divided into three different pulls after the games played on the first day of the tournament.
The first and second games were part of the elimination round and were also the qualifiers. After the first day, the top four teams were placed in pull A, the top five to 10 teams were in pull B while the bottom teams were in pull C.
Gayan Belgira- Batralo, one of the organizers of the tournament, said the pulling or the bracketing will be dependent on the ranking from the first to the second day.
The top four teams who will emerge from the respective pulls will qualify for the semifinals.
First ranked teams will face the fourth while the second ranked teams will fight against the third.
Semifinal winners will then advance to the championship game. Losers will battle for third place.
Unlike last year, the number of players decreased from 500 to just around 300 plus this year.
According to Batralo, some players, particularly those from Mindanao, have not participated in the tournament because of the upcoming national tournament in Davao. /Intern Jannica Niña G. Papelleras
