3 wounded as family driver, 2 others attack QC household

MANILA, Philippines—Three women were wounded when they were allegedly attacked by their family driver and two others in Quezon City Friday midnight, police said.

In a report, Superintendent Michael Bernabe Macapagal, station commander of Quezon City Police District Station 3, the victims were identified as Cindy and Cristine Nakayama, 49 and 15, respectively, and Elvira Umbas, 56, who were allegedly shot and stabbed inside their house at No. 8 Union Village, Barangay (village) Culiat in Quezon City around 12 midnight.

Macapagal said the alleged attacker, Marck Andrew Dalde, who was with two still unidentified men were armed with bladed weapons and two improvised handguns (sumpak).

Initial investigation showed that the victims were inside their room at the house’s second floor when they were attacked.

A radio report said Cindy was shot in the head, while the other two sustained stab wounds in their arms and faces.

It also said a child identified as “Queenie” managed to escape, and positively identified Dalde as their family driver, who were among the three men caught in a security camera footage.

The victims were rushed to the New Era Hospital where Cindy remains admitted, Macapagal said.
