Snub of BOPK bets spark fight
A dried fish vendor from sitio Alaska in barangay Mambaling has accused a Bando Osmena Pundok Kauswagan (BOPK) supporter of harassment after she refused to shake the hands of their candidates last Tuesday morning.
Salvacion Bueno, who is in her 60s, alleged that BOPK supporter Liza Boltron tossed the fish that she was trying to dry after she refused BOPK candidates.
“I did not shake their hands because because my hands reeked of dried fish,” Bueno said in Cebuano.
She reported the indicent to the Mambaling Police Station.
Mayor Michael Rama said he is prepared to help Bueno should she decide to file a complaint against Liza Boltron, a BOPK supporter.
“If she needs my help, I will help. That was human rights violation. Violation to the dignity of a person,” Rama said.
Article continues after this advertisementBut Councilor Margot Osmena of BOPK said BOPK candidates had nothing to do with the quarrel.
The incident, she said involving Bueno and Boltronwas caused by personal conflict.
