Radaza bares proposal to give P100,000 to Lapu’s centenarians

Elderly people in Lapu-Lapu City who will be celebrating their 100th birthday will soon receive P100,000 cash gift from the city.

Mayor Paz Radaza announced this during her team’s first day of political campaign in barangay Marigondon last Tuesday night in front of almost 2,000 people.

Radaza said she had already talked with the city council regarding her proposal to give the centenarians a cash gift.

“Once it becomes an ordinance, each centenarian will receive P100,000 as birthday gift,” Radaza said.

Mayor Radaza has been treating the city’s senior citizens who turned 100 years old with cakes and food since last year.

One of the centenarians she visited was a woman from barangay Babag who just died last month.

Radaza said she gave her cake, food and cash from her own pocket.

Early last month, she also went to Pangan-an Island and brought cake and food to celebrate the birthday of a100-year old woman.

The celebrant also received cash from Mayor Radaza and Rep. Arturo Radaza, who graced the activity. /CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
