Robberies

Motorcycle-riding robbers went on a robbing spree last Sunday and Monday in Talisay City. They first robbed Lolita Sevilla, 31, and took her two cellphones and P300 cash as she was walking to her house at Sunday night. At 4 a.m. yesterday, the robbers victimized Rubes Bakeshop in barangay Tabunok, and fled with P3,000 cash and two cellphones worth P3,000. The robbers also hit Angel’s Burger in barangay Poblacion and fled with Sunday’s proceeds worth P8,000. Police were still investigating the robberies./Correspondent Gabriel C. Bonjoc

Woman dead

A 27-year-old woman died in a hospital in Lapu-Lapu City after she and her friends went on a drinking spree.

Princess Bariso of San Mateo Rizal and temporarily residing in A.S. Fortuna St. barangay Banilad, Mandaue City, was rushed to the hospital after she collapsed after arriving at a resort in Lapu-Lapu City from a bar in A.S. Fortuna.

Bariso died at the hospital at 5:30 a.m. His companions told police that they only drank Tequila and Margarita at the bar.

They thought that she was just drunk when she vomited on their way to the resort. But when she collapsed there, they brought him to the hospital. Police were still investigating the incident./Correspondent Norman V. Mendoza
