Cebuano hotshot Dondon Hontiveros showed that he still has plenty left in the tank as he led the Aces to a crucial win over the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, which was good enough to earn him the Player of the Week honors for the period of April 1 to 7 in the ongoing PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
The 35-year-old veritably turned back the hands of time by coming off the bench and notching 22 points, stoking Alaska’s charge from a 22-point third quarter deficit and into an 89-84 win over erstwhile co-leader Rain or Shine last Friday.
“I’m just trying to help the team in any way I can. Timing lang na maganda ang shooting ko, ” said Hontiveros, a former ace of the University of Cebu./Correspondent Jonas Panerio
