Five members of the Cebu Football Association (CFA) Under 13 have been picked for the national training pool.
The five are Leo Maquiling of Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu, Sean Kyle Go of Bright Academy, Marcel Ivan Ouano of University of Southern Philippines Foundation, Loyd Soco of Banilad Elementary School and Jesse Semblate.
The Cebuanos join 25 other hopefuls from the National Capital Region, Iloilo Football Association, Negros Oriental Football Association, Bukidnon Football Association, Davao Football Association, Iligan Lanao Norte Football Association, North Cotabato Football Association, Negros Occidental Football Association, Misamis Occidental Ozamis Football Association, and Zamboanga Del Norte Dipolog Football Association.
The pool is now undergoing a camp in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
They were picked from a two-day final tryout in Dumaguete last month conducted by U13 regional coach Percy Guarin.
Eliezer Fabroada has been appointed as head coach of the national U13/U14 team to be assisted by Cebu’s Oliver Colina and John Michael Castanos.
The team will be seeing action in the Asian Football Confederation Festival of Football in the last week of May. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
