Pagasa says isolated rains to persist in Cebu

/ 07:24 AM April 08, 2013

THE brief rainshower experienced early morning yesterday resulted from a natural formation of clouds and not because of a low pressure area (LPA) or an inter-tropical convergence zone (ITCZ).

Weather analyst Boy Artiaga of the Mactan office of the state weather bureau Pagasa said cloudy skies brought rains to the the eastern part of the country including Cebu.

Even if it’s summer season, Artiaga said there would also be a few days of rain.  Yesterday’s temperature rose to 33.2 degrees Celsius from 1 to 2 p.m.

The early Sunday morning rains measured only 3 mm, the third time since last week.  Artiaga said there is also no low pressure area in the country’s area of responsibility.

The three-day rainfall also caused a crack in a cliff in the mountain barangay of Pulang Bato in Cebu City.
