ROCHELLE Tan defended her title in the Cebu leg of the National Age Group Triathlon after dominating this year’s edition yesterday at the Alegre Beach Resort and Spa in Sogod town, northern Cebu.
Tan took the standard overall female title after clocking three hours, 16 minutes and 22 seconds.
Tan and Loveleinell Casidsid were head-to-head in the run section but Tan relegated Casidsid to second after she sprinted to the finish line back inside the resort.
Casidsid finished with a time of 3:16:51 while the third place was salvaged by Liana Pastarno with a time of 3:22:53.
The standard overall male title went to Earl Jason Bilangdol, who crossed the finish line with a time of 2:25:40.
Bilangdol spoiled Noy Jopson’s chances of claiming a grandslam in Alegre after he relegated the latter to second place. Jopson clocked 2:27:30. Third place was clinched by Gerrie Calinawan, who was 10 seconds behind Jopson.
The standard female 17-39 was dominated by Liliafiona Tudtud after Fatima kei Cabilan did not finish the race.
Emily Quianzon Estarda clocked 3:41:54 to clinch the standard 40 over category.
In the male division, the standard 19-29 title was garnered by Jefferson Tabacon, who crossed the finish line in 2:28:58 while Jan Dennis Sinda posted a time of 2:51:04 to grab the standard male 30-34.
Standard male 35-39 was dominated by Randy Gilves, who had a time of 2:44:48 while Tyrone Tan reigned supreme in the standard male 40-44 with a time of 3:16:27.
Juergen Doerr took the title in the standard male 45-up after finishing the race in 2:34:24.
The standard relay title went to Team Tagud after its members combined for a time of 2:33:23.
SPRINT DISTANCE
Sixto Abeth Lalanto and Amale Jopson topped their respective divisions in the sprint distance.
Lalanto took the male overall title with a time of 1:18:15 while Jopson bagged the sprint overall female after crossing the finish line in 1:31:35.
The sprint 30 over title was pocketed by Alain Sanchez (1:28:49) while the sprint 45 under title went to Christine Joy Guillergan (1:47:17).
Joshua Ranullo Ranque bagged the sprint under 30 title with a time of 1:25:51.
