PCOS of you, the rules have changed

DO you know how to use the vote count machines?

A live demonstration of the Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines is being held at SM City Cebu by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Two sessions for the public will be held in the morning and another two in the afternoon, said Comelec Regional Director Temie Lambino.

”The PCOS are here for voters to get a feel of how to vote with the mahcine. Even those who are not eligible to vote can learn from the demonstrations,” he told reporters.

This is especially important for young people, who are not yet 18 years old or eligible to vote but can learn early for the the 2016 elections, Lambino said.

He said the Comelec would like more people to learn about and appreciate the automated elections.

“Our aim is to multiply any knowledge one has about the PCOS,” he said.

Lambino said some voters skipped the 2010 automated polls because they had reservations about the PCOS machines.

“There are several voters who still don’t know how to use the PCOS machines,” he said./Ador Vincent S. Mayol
