MANILA, Philippines–A 32-year-old vagrant, found badly beaten near a mosque on Sunday, died Friday at a Quezon City hospital, where he was being treated for his wounds.

Aldison Aliud, who was usually seen roaming around the Al Salaam Mosque Compound in Barangay Culiat, was pronounced dead at 5:30 a.m. Friday by attending doctors of the East Avenue Medical Center.

PO3 Jogene Hernandez, of the Quezon City Police District Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, said Aliud was found by residents at the mosque compound at around 6 p.m. Sunday severely wounded. The victim had apparently been beaten.

Hernandez said the residents brought Aliud to the East Avenue Medical Center for treatment but he succumbed to his injuries on Friday. The case investigator said the victim bore several wounds on the head and body and added that there is a continuing probe for the identification of Aliud’s attackers.
