Police Officer 3 Antonio Aragon said the body of Mark Escarmosa was found in a creek about 150 meters away from their home in Pililia town, in Rizal.
“We searched the area and we saw his skull, then the bigger portion of his body was found in a creek,” Aragon said.
“The child may have slipped and fell down. They may not have focused searching the area when they were looking for the boy because the creek is 10 feet deep,” he said.
Aragon said it is possible that the boy died from the fall and was later eaten by monitor lizards and other animals.
“But we are not discounting other possibilities that may have caused his death,” Aragon said noting that the mother insisted that her son was killed.
“We are still conducting an investigation,” he added.
