THE REIGNING Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) champions Southwestern University Cobras get their baptism of fire early as they face the five-time UAAP champions Ateneo Blue Eagles at the start of the 7th FilOil Flying V preseason tournament on April 13, at the Arena in San Juan City.
For the first time in league history, a team outside of Manila is participating in this prestigious preseason tournament.
The Cobras earned the invite after they ruled the Cesafi wars last year with a five-game conquest of the University of the Visayas Green Lancers.
However, the Cobras are in for a fierce test against the Blue Eagles on opening day.
In spite not having Cebuano big man, Greg Slaughter along with Nico Salva and Emman Monfort, Ateneo remains as formidable as ever with the presence of Kiefer Ravena and Ryan Buanafe.
