‘Neighbor kept gun used in shooting laborer’s wife’
Police are looking for the gun that was allegedly used in the fatal shooting of a woman in Naga City, southern Cebu whose husband claimed she died of a heart attack.
A neighbor of couple the Francisco and Endridia Alpar was the one who kept the gun according to an informant, SPO2 Saul Alejandria, investigator of the Naga City police station, said.
Insp. Gilbert Baroman said the informant called them and narrated that there was a commotion followed by a gunshot on the night that the woman was taken to the hospital.
A full-blown investigation will be conducted once the result of the paraffin test on Francisco is known, Senior Supt. Patrocinio Comendador, chief of the Cebu City Police Office (CPPO), said .
Francisco was arrested by Naga City police after it was discovered that the victim had three gunshot wounds in the abdomen.
Francisco is facing charges of obstruction of justice for failing to immediately report that her wife had gunshot wounds.

The husband insists there was no foul play involved.
Senior Supt. Nestor Sator, medico-legal officer, said it will be determined in the autopsy if there was foul play in the woman’ death.
Comendador said Francisco could be charged with parricide if it will be proven that he was involved in his wife’s death.
“We are also looking for witnesses for circumstantial evidence,” Comendador said.
Endridia’s brother, Carlos Lawas, has asked the police solve her sister’s death.
According to Baroman, there was an incident in the past that Francisco fired a gun.
Some neighbors told police that Francisco has a habit of going berserk when he gets drunk.
