Six-year-old Jumiera del Rosario has been diagnosed by doctors as suffering from global developmental delay, a condition that affects her speech and cognitive growth.
“She may be physically all right, but her behavior is that of a 3-year-old,” her mother Nova del Rosario told the Inquirer.
Her daughter is currently enrolled in occupational therapy sessions until December at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center, but Del Rosario says they cannot afford the cost pegged at P25,000.
Del Rosario, who is appealing to Inquirer readers for help, said she was also looking for a school that conducts one-on-one lessons for students of her mental level because her daughter was often the subject of bullying by older classmates at a public school she once attended.
Donors can reach Del Rosario at telephone no. (02) 453-3091. Deposits can also be made to her Banco de Oro account number 4050025593 at the SM City North Edsa branch in Quezon City.
