Wife of suspect in Mindanao pyramid scam arrested

MANILA, Philippines—Police authorities arrested the wife of Jachob “Coco” Rasuman, a suspect in a pyramiding scam in Lanao del Sur.

Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Llorca, Pasay city chief of police, said Princess Tomawis Rasuman was arrested Wednesday night by virtue of a warrant issued by a local court.

He said the arrest of Rasuman’s wife stemmed from information given by concerned individuals who claimed that she was in the area.

Coco Rasuman, Princess Tomawis, along with Bashir Rasuman Sr., Bashir Rasuman Jr., Emma Rasuman, Sultan Jerry Tomawis, Jeremiah “Maning” Rasuman and Jerome Rasuman are facing two counts of syndicated estafa for allegedly fleecing victims of at least P20 million in 2011 and 2012.

Coco was arrested last November.

Rasuman’s group was accused of promising victims an interest payment of 50 to 100 percent.
