MANILA, Philippines — The low pressure area near Mindanao has dissipated, the state weather bureau said.

The whole country will have partly cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Wednesday.

The trough of a low pressure area affecting Mindanao brought light to moderate rains in the region the past few days.

Easterlies, or winds from the east continue to affect the eastern portion of the country.

In Pagasa’s extended weather outlook until Sunday, temperatures in Metro Manila could go up to 34 degrees Celsius, while Tuguegarao City in Cagayan could have temperatures up to 37 degrees Celsius.

Tuesday’s temperature in Metro Manila was at its hottest at 32.8 degrees Celsius at 1:50 p.m.

Meanwhile, moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the east will prevail over Northern Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to occasionally rough, Pagasa said.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas, it added.  Frances Mangosing
