Joavan accused of threatening woman

/ 08:19 AM April 03, 2013

A 54-YEAR-OLD woman sought assistance from the Talisay City police after she was allegedly threatened by Joavan Fernandez, controversial adopted son of Talisay City Mayor Socrates Fernandez last Monday afternoon.

Florita Echavez Rosas claimed that Joavan’s group was posting campaign materials of his father in her home without her consent. She said she told Joavan to ask for her permission first before doing so.

She said Joavan responded by brandishing a firearm tucked behind his waist and continued to post campaign materials of his father at her home.

Mayor Fernandez admitted that Joavan should have asked Rosas’s permission before posting the campaign materials.

Earlier, Joavan was spotted driving with his vehicle with blinkers during a recent caravan of the Alayon Party. Correspondent Gabriel Bonjoc
