USJ-R to face Iloilo, Bacolod in PFF Suzuki Cup

The Cebu-University of San Jose Recoletos (USJR) is gearing up for the Visayas championships of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Under 23 Suzuki Cup which will be held in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental from April 15 to 21.

Cebu-USJR will go up against Iloilo and Bacolod in a double round robin format with the top two teams advancing to the national finals slated this May in Dumaguete.

The team will be fielding the same lineup it fielded during the eliminations.

The team’s transportation, accommodation and meal expenses will be shouldered by Suzuki, the event sponsor. The Cebu Football Association (CFA) will take care of its uniforms, coaches’ allowance and miscellaneous expenses.

The team will be leaving for Dumaguete on April 13.

Meanwhile, the CFA is urging all grassroots coaches to take part in the C licensing course on May 25 to June 27. Those interested are advised to apply at the CFA office located beside the Cebu City Sports Center. Deadline is on April 10. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
