Cebu PB at work amid poll campaign season

It was business as usual yesterday for the Cebu Provincial Board (PB) which  passed 11 resolutions amid the campaign season.

About 10 PB members were present for the session but  most of them left early to join their allies in  campaign sorties.

PB Members Sergio Restauro, Joven Mondigo, Alex Binghay and Wilfredo Caminero were absent.

PB Member Miguel Magpale, who’s running for the board representing Cebu’s 5th district, said he had to attend the session in Cebu City  before hitting the  campaign trail.

Acting Cebu Gov. Agnes Magpale and PB members Jude Sybico, Thadeo Ouano and Arleigh Sitoy joined the kick off campaign of the Liberal Party-Cebu (LP-Cebu) at Mandaue City yesterday.

The 45-day campaign period for local candidates officially began last March 29 but since it fell on a Good Friday, there were no campaign activities on that day.

After the PB session, PB Member Sun Shimura had to catch up with the One Cebu group who had a gathering in his hometown in Daanbantayan town.

Acting Vice Gov. Julian Daan also had to go to Daanbantayan  to perform on stage for the One Cebu slate.

Among the resolutions approved by the PB was an authorization to Magpale to enter into an agreement with Central Visayas local government units (LGUs) and national law enforcement agencies to coordinate efforts in the campaign against human trafficking.
