Ex UC forward Batino shines in Café France’s win

Former University of Cebu forward Alfred Batino proved his worth on the big stage as he had 14 points and 11 rebounds while Mike Parala topscored with 15 to help tow the Café France to their third straight win after beating the Big Chill Superchargers, 80-75, in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup yesterday at the Arena in San Juan City.

In the other game, Boracay Rum rallied in the fourth quarter to beat EA Regen Med, 85-75. The Waves struggled for three quarters before turning game around by scoring 30 points in the fourth quarter.

Maclean Sabellina scored 10 of his  game-high 22 points in the fourth quarter and teamed-up with Roider Cabrera and Lucas Tagarda during a 10-0 run as Boracay Rum turned a three point deficit into a 70-63 lead that held on to the end.

It was tough loss for Team Delta, who posted several double digit leads but shot just 9 of 34 in the second half.
