DOJ eyes putting Gloria Arroyo in immigration watch list
MANILA, Philippines — Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said on Monday that she might place former president and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in the immigration watch list “in the next few days.”
Arroyo is facing a string of plunder complaints at the justice department for allegedly corruption-tainted government policies during her nine-year term as President.
A person placed in the immigration watch list can travel but must first seek the permission of the Department of Justice.
De Lima had deferred placing Arroyo on the watch list when the former President underwent spine surgery last week.
