MANILA, Philippines – Vacationers returning to Metro Manila after spending Holy Week in different provinces will have a smooth and easy travel Monday morning as flow of traffic in two major expressways was moving fast.
Traffic in both northbound and southbound lanes of the North Luzon Expressway and the South Luzon Expressway was fast moving as of past 8:30 a.m.
Earlier Monday at 6:37 a.m., traffic went problematic at the southbound lane of Balintawak area heading towards Epifanio delos Santos Avenue.
NLEX then advised motorists in a Twitter post to take Mindanao Avenue instead.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority reminded the public that the number coding scheme is still suspended in the whole Metro Manila except for Makati City.
Meanwhile, Manila Police District’s traffic bureau advised that candidates of the Liberal Party-led coalition are set to hold a proclamation rally at the Bonifacio Shrine, beside the Manila City Hall later in the afternoon.
It said the stretch of the northbound lane along A. Villegas from Taft Avenue corner Freedom Triangle UP to MET/Quezon Boulevard (P. Burgos) would be temporarily converted to a one way road from 12 noon onwards for all types of vehicles.
