Three children drowned in separate incidents in Cebu.
Eight-year-old Larry Agudo drowned while swimming with relatives in the waters off sitio barangay Olivo, Tabuelan town at noon Saturday.
Police said Larry was found by his uncle Jimmy Agudo floating chest-deep in the water.
Jimmy told police that they were busy preparing for lunch and no one noticed that the boy went to the water alone.
Jimmy said Larry didn’t know how to swim.
PO2 Daryl Rondina of Tabuelan police precinct said the boy’s family was convinced that there was no foul play in the incident.
In Sta. Fe town, Bantayan Island, the body of a nine-year-old boy was found floating by a fisherman last Saturday afternoon.
John Ivan Esgana was declared dead at the Bantayan District Hospital.
Police said the boy’s parents claimed that they were not aware that their son went swimming.
Police said there were no signs of foul play.
In Toledo City, a 10-year-old boy drowned while swimming with friends in Udlom River on Friday afternoon.
Police identified the fatality as Hans Cajocson.
Hans was with his neighbors in barangay Magdugo during the accident.
PO1 Emmanuel Aragon said the boy’s companions sought help from residents in the area when the boy disappeared.
