‘PEACEFUL HOLY WEEK’
THE observance of the Holy Week in Cebu was generally peaceful, according to the police.
Except for minor road accidents, there were no untoward incidents that happened in Lapu-Lapu City, said Senior Supt. Rey Lyndon Lawas, chief of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LLCPO).
At least 40 policemen were deployed as reinforcement in more than 30 resorts and tourist destinations in Lapu-Lapu, said Lawas.
Police visibility went up in several churches in the city since Holy Monday, Lawas said.
Lawas said to avoid drowning incidents, resorts management especially those who offer banana boat rides were reminded to make sure that their customers wore life vests.
