The first day of campaign action in Mandaue City was subdued since it coincided with Easter Sunday, the end of the Holy Week break.
With family, friends, relatives and 200 supporters, vice gubernatorial candidate Glenn Soco attended early moring Mass at the National Shrine of St. Joseph in Mandaue City before heading to the public market for a meet and greet with city residents.
“Today (Easter Sunday) I will concentrate in the 6th district and tomorrow we’ll head to Danao City or the 5th district,” Soco said.
He called on Cebuanos to vote for him since he has a “fresh vision and new ideas for the province.”
The businessman said his platform of government will prioritize employment for all.
This is in line with his slogan “Asenso sa Trabaho.” Soco first ran for vice governor under the One Cebu party but lost to the late vice governor Greg Sanchez.
He said he heard about One Cebu’s vice gubernatorial candidate Boboy Durano and wished for his speedy recovery.
Former councilor Victor Biaño also kicked off his seven-hour campaign for mayor in Mandaue City by visiting 27 barangays at 9 a.m yesterday. He said he will start his evening campaigns on April 5.
He said their program will focus on youth and sport development, education, health care and empowerment of the people as well as environmental protection and housing.
Incumbent Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes, will hold a caravan at 7 a.m. today which ends at the San Roque Parish in Barangay Subangdako at 12 noon.
Cortes’s group is expected to be joined by Liberal Party-Cebu (LP-Cebu) gubernatorial candidate Hilario Davide III and runningmate acting Gov. Agnes Magpale
