Bakers eye third straight win

/ 06:22 AM April 01, 2013

The Café France Bakers aim for their third straight win but will be hard-pressed to do so when they take on the Big Chill Superchargers today in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Arena in San Juan City.

EA Regen Med and Cagayan Valley also seek a second straight win against separate opponents.

After an easy 81-55 victory against Hog’s Breath in its debut, the Delta go for no.2 against the Boracay Rum Wave [2-2] at 2 p.m. while the Rising Suns [1-1] seek a follow up to their 98-56 blowout win against Informatics when they take on the skidding Jumbo Plastic Giants [1-3] at 4 p.m.

Meanwhile, the league, in partnership with the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, will hold a 3-on-3 competition starting today.  One set will be played before each game during every play date until the duration of the event. Participants, who will be divided into three groups, will come from the 12 ball clubs taking part in the Foundation Cup.

The winner of the tournament will represent the country in the FIBA –Asia 3-on-3 tournament scheduled May 15-16 in Doha, Qatar. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
