Police nab couple in Makati in drug sting operation

MANILA, Philippines—Police arrested a couple in Makati City in a drug sting operation Wednesday night, an official said Thursday.

Senior Superintendent Manuel Lukban, Makati police chief, identified the suspects as Nonilo Manjares and Cecilia Arcilla, both residents of No. 3954 Yague Street, Barangay (village) Sta. Cruz, Makati.

Lukban said Manjares and Arcilla were arrested in a buy-bust operation near the couple’s residence around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Confiscated from the couple were 25 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” and drug paraphernalia.
