Woman jumps off bridge, survives
A WOMAN was rescued by a fisherman after she jumped from the Marcelo Fernan Bridge in Lapu-Lapu City early morning yesterday.
The woman was not immediately identified. She was still weak when she was brought to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City, said police.
Senior Insp. Juan Capacio, chief of police station 5, said the woman was believed to be mentally unstable.
Capacio said the woman was talking to herself and looking for her child when they arrived at the Maritime office where she was brought after she was rescued.
The fisherman said he found the woman in the waters after he heard a big splash.
Capacio said the place where the woman leaped was about 30 meters high.
