A RESORT in southern Cebu is adding a new convention center and 13 rooms in its facility this year as they expect more guests with the government’s thrust to put priority on investments that will spur more tourism developments in the country.
Rhyz Buac, Maribago Bluewater Resort general manager, said last Monday that they were happy with the new direction the government was taking to make tourism industry grow in the countryside.
“The private sector has been very active in pouring in investments to improve our properties and we knew since then that we will need the support from government especially on the infrastructure side like roads to make traveling to our properties more convenient and enjoyable,” said Buac.
The resort is about 125 km from Cebu City and has 14 rooms and 10 tents that they offer for “glampers” or glamour campers.
“We are building 14 new rooms that should be ready by September this year. Ten of these are premier deluxe rooms, two honeymooner villas and one family villa,” said Buac.
