TEAM Olkaz hacked out a 102-89 win over San Miguel to complete its three-game elimination round assignment in the 2013 Lou Ornopia Basketball Tournament at the barangay Calambua open court in San Remigio town, northern Cebu.
Jei Dablo, who a former University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Lancer, was in his usual deadly self, leading Olkaz with 39 points.
Dablo got the needed backing from Kevin Barro, who erupted for 36 markers. Barbie Velasco added 13 markers.
As the number one seed, Team Olkaz will have a twice-to-beat edge in the semifinal round, which starts April 6.
In the other game, the Ilihan cagers went through the wringers before nailing a 79-78 victory over Bagtic.
The month-long tournament is supported by Calambua barangay council in partnership with MS Motosuit, Bradder Moto Access, F&FO Motor Parts, Sanitec General Services, Speed-up Motor Parts, RMO Motor Parts, Prospeed, Motomaze, JCO Motor Parts, Keiz BJ Motors, Leizel Navarez, Diosdado Navarez, Anong Lumapas, Jerry Samarita, Vincent Golbe, and the families of Saludar, Ycot, Ornopia, Montealto, Armenion, Jubay, and De la Peña.
