/ 09:49 PM March 26, 2013

There’s no Holy Week or holy place for these Barabbases.

A band of three to five armed men barged into a convent in Quezon City around noon Tuesday and took more than P300,000 in payroll money from the stunned employees.

The robbers’ loot included $1,000 and 200 Euros, as well as an employee’s P1,500 pocket money and three cell phones.

The heist happened around 12:15 p.m. at the convent of the Missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit on Poinsettia Road, Barangay Immaculate Conception.

Initial reports from the Quezon City Police District said the robbers moved in right after an armored van delivered the payroll money amounting to P321,334.43 to the convent’s administrative office.

A source, who declined to be named, said three convent employees were counting the cash when the armed men entered the office.

Holding the employees at gunpoint, the men demanded the money and quickly fled on foot through the gate after securing the cash.
