SEVENTEEN women OFW returnees from Bahrain and other parts of the Middle East have completed the 40-hour skills training on Thai body and foot massage under the “Balik Pinay! Balik-Hanapbuhay!” project of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
The training was conducted on July 18-29 at the Nuat Thai Training Center in Cebu City.
The culminating ceremony was held last Aug. 5 at the Harolds Hotel on Gorordo Avenue, Cebu City.
Regional directors Wilfreda Misterio of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration in Central Visayas and Exequiel Sarcauga of the Department of Labor and Employment in Central Visayas distributed the certificates of completion and starter kits to the graduates signaling the start of their self-employment and livelihood.
According to DOLE-7, the Balik Pinay! Balik-Hanapbuhay! project will improve the socioeconomic conditions of women OFW-returnees through livelihood skills training intervention.
