ADONIS Singson, the former balut vendor, won his second title of the weekend after dominating the 12-kilometer run of yesterday’s LiveRun 2011 of the Cebu Gastroentorology Society at the Chong Hua Medical Arts grounds.
Singson also won the Heroes Run of the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) last Saturday. He is also the defending champion of the 34th Milo Half Marathon Cebu leg held October last year.
Singson clocked 41 minutes and 52 secondsto top the men’s side while University of Southern Philippines-Foundation (USP-F) Joeyry Lee topped the distaff side with a time of 50 minutes and 29 seconds.
Around a thousand runners from different hospitals in Cebu joined the running event intended to strengthen the awareness against liver diseases.
Second to Singson was Riez Enriquez (42:29) while Alvirg Busa (43:14) came in at third.
Christy Sevellino-Tutor (50:59) and Kaye Malagar (1:06:24).
Sisters Jhean and Cherry Andrin ruled the 6k female open with 1-2 finish. The 13-year-old Jhean topped the category with a time of 25:36 while nine-year-old Cherry clocked 27:35 for second place. Rochelle Tan placed third with a time of 31:05.
Jorry Ycong won the 6k male open with a time of 21:38 followed by Gabriel Escuadra (22:03) and Oliver Dabatos (25:14)./CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
