The semifinal cast has been set in the under-19 division of the 2013 ThreeSixty Pharmacy Cup led by the University of the Visayas (UV), which earned the top spots in their respective divisions following conquests over their opponents in their final elimination round encounters last Friday at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu basketball courts along Mango Avenue.
UV ousted the reigning champions Adgers Sportswear, 86-48, to claim top billing in Group A while the UV under-16 squad edged the Athletes for Christ in Excellent Service, 56-52, for the top spot in Group B, relegating the latter to the second seed.
The Palarong Pambansa-bound CVIRAA squad earned the second seed in Group A with a 69-36 win over the University of Southern Philippines Foundation.
The crossover semifinals pits the UV U16 squad against CVIRAA, while UV goes up against ACES in sudden death games. The finals will also a one game playoff.
ThreeSixty Pharmacy Cup 2013 is the flagship tournament of Season 6 of the Cebu Youth Basketball League (CYBL). The tournament is composed of 50 teams spread over four age groups: Under 10, 13, 16 and 19. Games in the Under 10, 13 and 16 divisions are now over. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
