2nd GOOD Run gets underway

/ 06:48 AM March 24, 2013

AROUND 2,000 runners will swarm the Parkmall in Mandaue City early morning today to answer the starting gun of the second GOOD (Goiter, Obesity, Osteoporosis and Diabetes) Run of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) Philippine Chapter.

Of this number, 500 runners including the vaunted Kenyans will be competing head to head against our very own local elite runners in the half marathon 21-kilometer distance. The race’s other distances include 12k, 6k, 3k and 1k fun walk.

The running event aims to strengthen AACE’s advocacy of preventing goiter, obesity, osteoporosis and diabetes.

After the race, there will be a free medical check up for participants.  /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
