Woman stabbed dead while jogging

A woman jogging past 7 a.m. yesterday in barangay Quiot, Cebu City was stabbed dead in a chance encounter on the road with a man, who took offense when she stared at his cousin.

The victim, Jane Villaflor Aguilos, a private tutor from barangay Basak San Nicolas, suffered multiple stab wounds in the body and died while being treated at the Cebu City Medical Center.

Police arrested the assailant, Reagan Nacorda, a 22-year-old resident, who said the female jogger stared at his cousin angrily when they encountered each other on the road in Quiot.

Nacorda told police he was irked and drew his knife to stab the woman several times, said Insp. Rogelio Cañete of Punta Princessa police station.

Nacorda, who is unemployed, fled after the attack.

Police later found him near his house.
